Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo has signed up with cryptocurrency platform Binance for the creation of exclusive NFT collections through a deal that will run for several years.
Binance, one of the world’s leading blockchain ecosystems and cryptocurrency infrastructure provider, issued a statement informing of the deal with the Portuguese footballer.
The contract has a multi-year duration in which Binance will launch a worldwide campaign with the goal of introducing the Portuguese player’s fans to Web3 with a compelling entry point into the world of NFTs.
The first collection will be launched at the end of the year
Cristiano Ronaldo and Binance will create a series of collections for sale exclusively on Binance’s NFT platform.
The first collection will launch in late 2022 and will feature designs created in collaboration with Ronaldo himself.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best footballers in the world, and has transcended sport to become an icon in multiple industries,” said Binance founder and CEO Changpeng Zhao.
“He has amassed one of the world’s most dedicated fan bases through his authenticity, talent and charity work.
“We are delighted to provide his fans with exclusive engagement opportunities to connect with Ronaldo and own a piece of iconic sports history.”
