Kia has officially announced the full pricing details for its highly anticipated 2024 EV9, an electric three-row SUV. The automaker has also confirmed that the reservation process for the EV9 will begin on October 16th, with deliveries expected to start in the fourth quarter of next year.
The entry-level Light RWD grade of the 2024 EV9 is priced at $56,395, while the Light Long Range RWD grade starts at $60,695. Buyers interested in adding all-wheel drive will have to opt for the Wind e-AWD grade, which starts at $65,395. Additionally, there are two higher grades available: the Land e-AWD and GT-Line e-AWD, priced from $71,395 and $75,395, respectively. All prices include a $1,495 destination charge.
The Light RWD grade comes equipped with a 76.1-kWh battery and a single-motor rear-wheel drive. The motor has a power output of 215 hp. On the other hand, the Light Long Range RWD grade features a larger 99.8-kWh battery, but the motor’s output is reduced to 201 hp. This trade-off enables the EV9 to achieve a maximum range of 300 miles, as previously hinted by Kia.
The other grades of the EV9 also come with the 99.8-kWh battery, but they feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain capable of producing 379 hp. These higher grades also offer an optional Towing Package, allowing the EV9 to tow up to 5,000 pounds.
Although the EV9 currently offers several impressive grades, Kia has stated that a more powerful GT grade will be released in early 2025.
The entry-level Light RWD grade of the 2024 EV9 comes with a range of standard features including DC fast-charging, 19-inch wheels, and seating for seven. The driver’s seat offers eight-way power adjustment, heating, and cooling. Kia has also included 20 electronic driver-assist features as standard, such as forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, as well as intersection support. This system is designed to provide braking and/or steering assistance to help avoid a collision if the driver doesn’t react in time.
Upgrading to the Light Long Range RWD grade adds additional features, including bidirectional charging, rear cross-traffic warning, and park sensors. This grade also offers the option of second-row captain’s chairs.
As buyers move up the grades, they can enjoy more comfort and convenience features, along with stylish upgrades like 20-inch wheels. Some of the additional features include a power-adjustable heated steering wheel, a digital rearview mirror, a surround-view camera, and a 14-speaker Meridian audio system.
For those interested in the GT-Line e-AWD grade, unique front and rear fascias, 21-inch wheels, and unique trim elements are included. The GT-Line also offers a remote parking system and additional torque, providing 516 lb-ft instead of the 443 lb-ft found in other all-wheel-drive grades.
All versions of the EV9 come equipped with a single curved display that combines a pair of 12.3-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, as well as a 5.0-inch screen for the climate control. Standard features such as Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a wireless phone charger are also included across the entire range.
It’s worth noting that buyers interested in EV tax credits may want to delay their purchase. The initial production of the EV9 will take place in South Korea, but Kia plans to shift production to its plant in West Point, Georgia, next year.
With its competitive pricing, impressive range, and a wide range of features, the 2024 Kia EV9 is set to make a significant impact in the electric SUV market. As reservations for the EV9 open in October, customers can look forward to enjoying the benefits of Kia’s latest electric offering in the near future.
