The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon has been unveiled in its European spec, but unfortunately, it will not be making its way to the U.S. market. Andrew Brudnicki, a spokesperson for Mercedes, confirmed to Motor Authority that the standard version of the new E-Class Wagon will not be sold in the U.S. However, he did mention that there may be a future announcement regarding the All Terrain model, which is the only version of the current-generation E-Class Wagon available in the U.S.
Moving onto the design and features of the 2024 E-Class Wagon, it shares the same sixth-generation platform as the E-Class sedan, which is set to arrive in U.S. showrooms later this year. The exterior styling of the wagon closely resembles that of the sedan, and it boasts a coefficient of drag (Cd) of 0.26. This is slightly better than the previous-generation model, despite having a slightly larger frontal area.
In terms of dimensions, the 2024 E-Class Wagon is 1.1 inches wider than its predecessor, and the wheelbase has increased by 0.8 inch to 116.5 inches. These changes have resulted in increased elbow room and a maximum cargo space of 21.7 cubic feet with the rear seats up and 64.6 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down, according to Mercedes.
The tech features in the wagon are on par with those found in the sedan. Depending on the specification, it can come equipped with up to three screens. These include a 12.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.4-inch central touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch front passenger screen. The front passenger screen features a camera-based “filtering concept” that prevents the driver from being distracted.
