Audi is making significant strides in its commitment to electric vehicles (EVs). The automaker has announced that it will launch its final gas-powered car in 2026, after which most models in its lineup will transition to electric power. Already, Audi Sport has electric models in its lineup, such as the SQ8 E-Tron SUV and the RS E-Tron GT sedan. And according to recent spy shots, it appears that there may be another electric S model in the works – an S6 E-Tron based on the upcoming A6 E-Tron sedan.
While the prototype may resemble the regular A6 E-Tron, closer inspection reveals some key differences that point to it being a performance variant. These include a rear diffuser, lowered suspension, and an uprated brake package with red calipers.
The A6 E-Tron concept, which was shown in 2021, featured a 100-kWh battery and a dual-motor powertrain that produced 469 horsepower. It is expected that this power output will be reserved for the S6 E-Tron, though a higher figure is also possible. For reference, the Audi SQ8 E-Tron has 496 horsepower.
