When it comes to vacuums, we’ve tried a wide range of options and have yet to come across one that we absolutely hate. However, there are a few vacuums that didn’t quite make the cut compared to our top picks. While these vacuums are still solid and in some cases more affordable, they didn’t impress us as much as our favorites.
One such vacuum is the Levoit VortexIQ 40 Cordless Stick Vacuum, priced at $230. This used to be our budget-friendly pick, but stock is becoming limited. Nonetheless, it still performs well and does a great job of sucking up hair, cat litter, and even Cheerios. One feature we particularly liked is its auto mode, which adjusts the power as needed. For example, when we went over a patch of litter, the suction power increased and then dropped back down again. Additionally, it can transform into a capable hand vac, similar to some higher-end vacuums.
Another option to consider is the LG CordZero All in One Cordless Stick Vacuum, which comes with a hefty price tag of $999. While this vacuum is undeniably impressive and has excellent suction power, it’s hard to justify spending nearly $1000 on a stick vacuum. Some noteworthy features include a stand that automatically empties the dirt basket and charges the vacuum. The stand also conveniently holds the attachments, including a mop head. If money is not an issue for you, then you may find this vacuum to be worth the investment. However, if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, there are plenty of other capable vacuums available.
For those seeking a reasonably priced stick vacuum, the Eureka Innova Cordless Stick Multi-Surface Vacuum is worth considering at $229. This vacuum performs well in cleaning tasks, especially on litter mats. It offers specific settings for both carpet and hardwood floors. However, when it comes to picking up larger debris like Cheerios, we found that we had to lift the vacuum up and place it directly on top of them. Despite this minor inconvenience, it still delivers solid performance at an affordable price point.
The Shark Wandvac Self-Empty Cordless Vacuum, priced at $330, caught our attention with its compact size and versatility. We loved that it can transform into a hand vac and comes with its own attachments, making it ideal for cleaning small areas like our desk. Additionally, it features a base that automatically collects the dirt from the dust bin, minimizing dust clouds. However, its suction power may not be as strong as desired, and it felt slightly shorter than ideal. The dustbin is also relatively small at just 0.13 quarts. If the self-emptying bin is not a priority for you, consider the Wadvac Pet System ($200), which offers similar performance without the base.
Finally, we have the Hoover OnePwr Emerge Pet, available for $330. Despite the similar name to the Hoover mentioned earlier, this is a different version. While it is a traditional stick vacuum with attachments, our tester felt that the attachments were flimsy, and the overall suction power weakened when the attachments were in use. Nonetheless, it still gets the job done satisfactorily, but if you want more power, it may be worth waiting for a sale on vacuums like the Dyson V10.
In conclusion, while these vacuums didn’t make it to the top of our list, they still offer solid performance and come at various price points to suit different budgets. It’s essential to consider your specific needs and preferences when choosing a vacuum, as factors such as suction power, additional features, and price all play a role in finding the perfect fit for your home.
