In the memo, Pappas stated, “Given all the successes reached at TikTok, I finally feel the time is right to move on and refocus on my entrepreneurial passions.” They also acknowledged the remarkable advancements in various fields, such as generative artificial intelligence, robotics, renewable energy, genomics, blockchain, and the Internet of Things, indicating that the future will undoubtedly look different.
Upon reaching out for comment, TikTok shared an email from CEO Shou Zi Chew, which was sent to the company’s employees. The Verge reported this occurrence.
