BMW is currently in the process of testing an updated version of its 2-Series Gran Coupe, a compact sedan that was first introduced in 2019 as a 2020 model. This updated version is expected to launch late this year or early next year, potentially as a 2024 or 2025 model. Alongside the 2-Series Gran Coupe, there will also be an updated version of the related 1-Series Hatchback, which will be available in overseas markets. Both models will utilize the latest version of BMW Group’s FAAR platform designed specifically for front-wheel-drive cars.
The prototype of the 2-Series Gran Coupe is heavily camouflaged, implying that significant changes and updates are being made. There have been rumors that BMW may position the car as a next-generation model. The updated version will feature new headlights and a new grille design. The front fascia will have a more horizontal theme, while the rear will showcase a new taillight signature and a cleaner fascia design.
Inside the vehicle, the 2-Series Gran Coupe is expected to incorporate a more modern dash design, similar to the one found in the 2-Series Active Tourer sold in other markets.
