Lawson believes that when dropping a bombshell like that, it’s crucial to address the root of the issue and make sense of it for their future life together. She realized in that moment that Bonner didn’t possess the qualities she was looking for in a future husband and decided to end their relationship.
Lawson has no regrets about how her relationship with Bonner played out. She believes that the exchange they had confirmed their connection wasn’t meant to be. Seeing everything she needed to see at that moment, she is grateful that it happened then rather than after the show. She wouldn’t change anything about their journey and doesn’t believe they would have had a healthy or successful relationship if they had ended up together.
