The victim, McKayla, a single mother from Kentucky, fell victim to a catfishing and romance scam. She shared her shocking experience on the YouTube channel Catfished. McKayla claimed that she met the imposter on an online forum and they had been chatting for a year before he asked her to be his girlfriend. Despite being married, McKayla believed her relationship with her husband was toxic and decided to pursue a relationship with the person she believed was Dacre Montgomery.
It is important to note that the real Dacre Montgomery has been in a relationship with model Liv Pollock since 2017. However, this crucial piece of information did not deter McKayla from thinking that the imposter was genuine.
