The summer of “Suits” continues to break records, with the legal drama surpassing 3 billion minutes of watch time for the fourth consecutive week. The show, which is available for streaming on Netflix and Peacock, recorded 3.88 billion minutes of viewing for the week of July 17-23. This figure exceeded the previous week’s record of 3.67 billion minutes, making it the largest weekly viewership ever for an acquired series since Nielsen began tracking streaming show viewing in 2020. The 3.88 billion minutes of watch time for July 17-23 now ranks as the 13th highest total for any week in the past three years.
In addition to “Suits,” two other shows also reached the billion-minute mark for the week. “Bluey” on Disney+ and “Sweet Magnolias” on Netflix tied with 1.22 billion minutes of viewing each. Although “Bluey” had a slight lead with 1.219 billion minutes compared to “Sweet Magnolias” with 1.218 billion minutes, it’s worth noting that more than half of “Bluey” viewers were children aged 2-11, while “Sweet Magnolias” had a predominantly female audience of 81%.
“Jack Ryan” maintained its popularity with 700 million minutes of viewing in the week following its series finale on Amazon’s Prime Video. Prime’s “The Summer I Turned Pretty” also remained in the top 10 original series, with 493 million minutes of viewing. Additionally, “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” re-entered the charts with 324 million minutes of viewing after Paramount+ released two new episodes.
It’s important to note that Nielsen’s streaming ratings only cover viewing on TV sets and do not include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. These ratings also only measure U.S. audiences and do not account for viewership in other countries.
