SZA’s new music video for her popular song “Snooze” has gained attention due to its star-studded cameo appearances. In the video, SZA is joined by Justin Bieber, Young Mazino, Woody McClain, and Benny Blanco, who play her love interests. The video, released on Friday, showcases various scenes of the couples lying on the grass in the park, rolling a joint in bed, feeding horses, and even arguing while McClain plays video games. SZA co-directed the video with Bradley J. Calder.
Although SZA and Bieber haven’t collaborated musically yet, they were spotted enjoying a date night in March at SZA’s concert in Los Angeles. Young Mazino, a rising star, recently earned an Emmy nomination for his outstanding supporting actor role in the limited series or anthology series “Beef.” Woody McClain, known for his roles in “The Harder They Fall,” “The New Edition Story,” and “The Bobby Brown Story,” adds his acting skills to the video. Benny Blanco, a critically acclaimed songwriter-producer, has worked with artists like Bieber, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, and Kesha. Blanco also contributed to SZA’s sophomore album “SOS,” producing two tracks.
“Snooze,” the fifth single from “SOS,” has achieved remarkable success, reaching double platinum status and accumulating 700 million streams worldwide. The song recently broke into the Top 10 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming SZA’s fifth Top 10 hit from her latest album. Additionally, the groovy tune has spent its fifth week at the top of the Hot R&B Songs chart.
The catchy and well-written “Snooze” was penned by SZA herself, with production credits going to Babyfaxe, BLK, and The Rascals’ Leon Thomas and Khris Riddick-Tynes.
“SOS,” which was released in December, continues to shine with its impressive achievements. The album has generated eight billion streams worldwide, reached triple platinum status, and spent a notable ten weeks at the top of Billboard’s 200 albums chart. Some of the other hit songs from the album include “Kill Bill,” “Shirt,” “I Hate U,” “Good Days,” and “Nobody Gets Me.”
In addition to the music video release, SZA also dropped a “Snooze” four-track bundle on Friday. This bundle includes sped-up and instrumental versions of the track, offering fans a fresh take on the popular song.
SZA’s ongoing success and the positive reception to the “Snooze” music video solidify her status as an influential and talented artist. With her soulful voice and relatable lyrics, she continues to captivate audiences around the world. Fans eagerly await future collaborations and releases from this rising star in the music industry.
