After facing delays due to the pandemic, the highly anticipated Rimac Nevera finally entered production in 2022. The production facility, located just outside of Zagreb, Croatia, has recently offered a glimpse into its operations through a drone fly-around video.
The video tour of the factory is concise, lasting just over a minute and a half. It begins with a view of the company offices before moving on to showcase the assembly area. Finally, it concludes by giving viewers a glimpse of the quality control areas where the cars undergo thorough checks before being shipped out.
The Nevera production line, unveiled in 2021, was designed to produce 50 cars annually. This means that it will take three years to complete the planned production run of 150 units. The assembly process for each car takes approximately five weeks. The much-anticipated first production car was unveiled in July 2022, and shortly after, the first customer car was delivered to Formula One champion Nico Rosberg the following month.
The Nevera is the production version of the Rimac C_Two concept, which made its debut at the 2018 Geneva auto show. It is also the successor to the Rimac Concept_One, the first electric hypercar created by Rimac. The Nevera boasts an impressive power output of 1,914 horsepowers and generates 1,740 lb-ft of torque. Despite its incredible performance, it also manages to achieve an impressive EPA-rated range of 287 miles on a single charge.
In April, Rimac made headlines by setting an astonishing 23 production vehicle records with the Nevera for acceleration and braking. These records include a remarkable 0-60 mph time of just 1.74 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 8.25 seconds, a standing-mile time of 20.59 seconds, and a 0-100-0 kph time of 3.99 seconds. As if that weren’t enough, Rimac previously claimed the title of the world’s fastest production electric vehicle in 2022 with a top speed of 256 mph.
Beyond the Nevera, Rimac has now taken on an additional responsibility: the development of future Bugatti hypercars. In 2022, the Bugatti Rimac company was formed, putting Rimac in charge of shaping Bugatti’s future. However, it is important to note that Bugatti will continue to produce its cars at its own facility in Molsheim, France.
The introduction of the Rimac Nevera and the expansion of Rimac into the development of Bugatti hypercars mark significant milestones for the company. This development highlights Rimac’s prowess as a manufacturer of high-performance electric vehicles and solidifies its position as a prominent player in the hypercar industry.
With the Nevera entering production, car enthusiasts and fans of Rimac eagerly anticipate the start of deliveries and the opportunity to witness these incredible machines on the road. As the Nevera and future Rimac and Bugatti collaborations make their way into the hands of passionate owners, the electric hypercar segment is bound to see an exciting surge in innovation and performance. The Rimac Nevera is undoubtedly a trailblazer in this space and sets the stage for what the future of high-performance electric vehicles can achieve.
