Authorities in Berkeley, CA have provided new information and video footage related to a domestic violence incident that occurred at a car dealership in September. On the morning of September 21, police responded to a distress call reporting an active shooter at the Toyota of Berkeley service center in Albany. Both Berkeley and Albany law enforcement quickly arrived at the scene.
In a recent update, the Berkeley Police Department released surveillance and body camera footage of the incident. The video shows that 24-year-old Lamar Walker entered the dealership and shot 24-year-old Alonna Gallon, an employee at the dealership. Walker then turned the gun on himself in an attempt at suicide, but he survived.
After evacuating the dealership staff, officers discovered that both the shooter and the victim were on the second floor of the building. With no active gunfire reported, law enforcement conducted a thorough search of the premises. Despite attempts by emergency responders, both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.
