Largay Travel’s Vision Conference 2023 recently concluded in Southbridge, MA at the Southbridge Hotel & Conference Center. The event was a remarkable success, bringing together travel professionals and suppliers from around the world to delve into the core meaning of the travel industry and to engage in personal and professional growth. According to Paul Largay, chief culture curator at Largay Travel, the event was designed to be an immersive experience, not just a typical conference.
The conference kicked off with professional development sessions that covered the latest travel trends and offered insights into leveraging Largay Travel’s services and technology to enhance attendees’ personal and work lives. Key topics included the rise of sustainable and regenerative travel, changing communication preferences of clients, and new metrics and strategies to measure success in the industry.
A highlight of the conference was the general session, where Largay Travel’s President, Amanda Klimak, recapped the company’s accomplishments over the past year and recognized staff members with awards for embodying the company’s core values. The leadership team also recognized the most engaged travel supplier of the year, most engaged advisor of the year, and top producers of the year. The session concluded with a special award called the “Spirit of Life” award, dedicated in memory of their industry colleague and friend, John Migliori.
One of the innovative events included in the conference was the Slumber Showcase, a networking event that featured Largay’s top hotelier partners. This year, Largay introduced a fun way for travel advisors and hoteliers to interact by creating a customized bingo card. Advisors would visit each hotelier’s table to get their cards stamped, and upon completing the card, they could submit it to be eligible for prizes at the end of the evening. The night concluded with the graduation ceremony of Largay Travel’s 2023 Mentoring Class.
The event continued with the “Globetrotting” event, where travel advisors were matched and traveled together in short increments with top travel suppliers to learn about the latest destinations and experiences. A private event and game night at Treehouse Brewing in Charlton, MA allowed for more networking opportunities.
One of the surprises for attendees was a nighttime Storytelling Under the Stars event, sponsored by Celebrity Cruises and Forbes Travel Guide. The event featured Largay Travel’s Chief Culture Curator, Paul Largay, who moderated and interviewed three guests, including Dennis Pinto, Ashish Sanghrajka, and Scott Largay.
The Vision Retreat concluded with a grand finale gala dinner costume party hosted at the Publick House in Sturbridge, MA, sponsored by Tauck. Amanda Klimak expressed her excitement about the event, stating that it was not just an event, but an immersive experience that provided a platform for professionals to connect on a deeper, more human level.
Overall, the 2023 Largay Travel Vision Conference was a transformative experience for all attendees, offering valuable insights and fostering meaningful connections within the travel industry.
