An American hostage, identified as 4-year-old Abigail Mor Edan, was recently released by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, among a group of 17 hostages. Notably, Elizabeth Hirsch Naftali, the great aunt of the released child, has been reported to have purchased art from Hunter Biden. Naftali, a Democratic donor, was appointed by Joe Biden to the U.S. Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad. The timing of her art purchase in relation to her appointment remains unclear.
The release of the 4-year-old hostage was a specific focus for the Biden administration. Concurrently, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability has initiated an investigation into Hunter Biden’s art dealings, exploring potential links to money laundering and pay-to-play access to the White House. Naftali, who is known to have acquired at least one piece of Hunter’s art, is a significant Democratic donor with influence in California circles.
Internal documents indicate a buyer spent $875,000 on Hunter Biden’s art, and Naftali is reported to be one of the purchasers. The identity of the buyer behind this significant sum remains unknown. The investigation is ongoing, with a focus on maintaining transparency regarding art transactions involving the Biden family.
Though the Biden White House insisted Hunter Biden’s art purchasers would be withheld from the public, it was revealed that Naftali had bought at least one piece of Hunter art for what is believed to be an eye-watering sum of money.
“…one of those buyers is indeed someone who got a favor from the Biden White House. The timing of their purchase, however, is unknown,” Business Insider reported in July.
That buyer, Insider can reveal, is Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, a Los Angeles real-estate investor and philanthropist. Hirsh Naftali is influential in California Democratic circles and a significant Democratic donor who has given $13,414 to the Biden campaign and $29,700 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee this year. In 2022, she hosted a fundraiser headlined by Vice President Kamala Harris.
