In a harrowing revelation, the family of Gonzalo Lira, a U.S.-Chilean citizen and journalist, recently announced his death while in Ukraine’s custody. Lira, known for his criticism of the Zelensky regime, was arrested by the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) in May 2023. Prior to his arrest, Lira issued a chilling warning about the potential consequences of being caught by Ukrainian authorities.
“The American State Department knows exactly who I am and the situation I’m currently involved in,” Lira stated. “And they know the fate that awaits me.” He pleaded for help, saying, “Please don’t be indifferent to my fate. I ask you this very humbly, please recognize the literal death that awaits me if this doesn’t work out.”
In October 2023, an American transgender named Sarah Ashton-Cirillo, also known as Michael Cirillo, who works as a propagandist for the Ukrainian Regime bragged with a sadistic smile as he announced that the SBU arrested Gonzalo Lira as he attempted to leave Ukraine to seek asylum in Poland, On January 12, 2024, the same person posted a disgusting message on X “Some words about Gonzalo Lira.” expressing his sympathies to Lira’s family.
In the wake of Gonzalo Lira’s tragic passing, his father held the State Department, President Joe Biden, and the Zelensky regime accountable.
“I cannot accept the way my son has died. He was tortured, extorted, incommunicado for 8 months and 11 days, and the US Embassy did nothing to help my son,” he said.
The State Department confirmed Lira’s death on Saturday but declined to mention his name, leaving many questioning their role in the tragic event.
