Justin Timberlake was detained by police in Sag Harbor, New York, for what appears to be a case of driving while intoxicated (DWI), URECOMM has learned.
A representative for the Sag Harbor Police Department confirmed that the singer is currently in custody at their station. However, they did not provide further details about the charges. A forthcoming release is expected to clarify the situation. Sources with direct knowledge indicate that Timberlake’s arrest is related to a traffic violation, with strong indications pointing towards a DWI.
According to our sources, Timberlake had gone to meet friends for dinner at a hotel in Sag Harbor on Monday night. Around 12:30 AM, he got into his car to drive back to his lodging and was pulled over almost immediately.
As of this post, Timberlake remains in custody. However, it is routine for bail to be posted in such cases, so his release is expected soon.
