Audi has announced that its upcoming Q6 E-Tron will be equipped with lights that have the ability to change their signature or pattern based on the situation or preferences of the owner. This advanced feature will be made possible by Audi’s second-generation OLEDs for the head and taillights, which will enable the lights to act as intelligent displays that can convey information to onlookers.
One notable example of this technology is the communication light that will be integrated into the taillights of the Q6 E-Tron. This light will have the capability to alert other road users about accidents or breakdowns by utilizing cloud-based traffic information and displaying specific light signatures. This system is similar to the one Audi introduced in the headlights of the A8 flagship sedan back in 2022.
The communication light in the Q6 E-Tron can also be utilized to notify other road users in various situations, such as emergency assistance, an imminent rear-end collision, emergency or roadside assistance calls, and more. In terms of customization, Audi has stated that Q6 E-Tron owners will have the ability to change the light signatures for the daytime running lights of both the head and taillights.
