The other two models include the full-size Escalade IQ, scheduled for an August 9th debut, and a mid-size SUV with three rows, which may be named the Ascendiq, Symboliq, or Vistiq based on recent trademark activity.
The details of the Optiq were sourced from Chinese government documents and have been republished on Autohome. According to these documents, the Optiq is expected to weigh around 4,894 pounds and measure close to 190 inches in length. Interestingly, this length is the same as the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV, indicating that the Optiq likely shares many similarities with this model.
One significant similarity between the Equinox EV and the Optiq is the use of General Motors’ Ultium EV platform and battery set designed for compact crossovers. While no specific details about the Optiq’s battery or range were provided, the documents did mention a powertrain consisting of a single electric motor at the rear axle. In the Chinese market, the Optiq is expected to be available with power outputs of either 201 or 241 horsepower.
Camouflaged prototypes of the Optiq spotted in the wild suggest that the vehicle will resemble a scaled-down version of Cadillac’s Lyriq, with a slightly more upright tailgate. The leaked photos also reveal a more rounded front section and a smaller take on Cadillac’s signature LED-embedded grille used for electric vehicles.
