The actor who has been cast to play Superman in the upcoming film has undergone a noticeable transformation since his casting was announced. David Corenswet, who will be portraying the Man of Steel in James Gunn’s ‘Superman: Legacy,’ has recently been seen looking much more fit and muscular, a stark contrast to his initial appearance.
An image of Corenswet at the gym, captured by fitness trainer Paolo Mascitti, has been making the rounds. It seems that Corenswet has been putting in the work to get into peak physical shape for the iconic role, and from the looks of it, his efforts have paid off.
Although his face is not visible in the image, it is clear that his physique has undergone a significant transformation. His toned and muscular frame is a far cry from the more slender and awkward figure that some fans had initially seen following the announcement of his casting. It’s quite a turnaround from earlier in the summer when Corenswet was seen sporting a more laid-back “dad bod” look at the beach.
It’s worth noting that there was nothing wrong with Corenswet’s physique before, but it appears that he has taken it upon himself to bulk up for the role of Superman. And as of now, it seems like he’s ticking all the boxes when it comes to embodying the character. With the right physique, facial features, and height, Corenswet is shaping up to be the complete package.

Of course, there’s still the matter of how he will ultimately look in the iconic blue and red suit, but the recent transformation is certainly a step in the right direction. Filming for ‘Superman: Legacy’ is scheduled to commence in Spring 2024, with the movie set to hit theaters in Summer 2025.
And as a playful aside, it seems that the new Superman may just be giving the previous actor to don the cape, Henry Cavill, a run for his money. All in good fun, of course.
