The woman involved in the car crash that resulted in the death of former NFL star Alex Collins was described as “hysterical” immediately after the accident. According to police reports, she claimed that she was unaware of the force of the collision that sent Collins into her vehicle.
In the 911 audio obtained by TMZ Sports, the woman can be heard frantically saying, “I can’t find him!” This call was made shortly after Collins’ motorcycle collided with the woman’s SUV around 10:20 PM in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida.
The woman told the operator, “He hit me from behind,” but she was in a state of panic because she couldn’t locate Collins’ body after the crash. During the call, bystanders can be heard in the background urging her to open the door of her vehicle as they realized Collins was inside.
Tragically, Collins was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. He was only 28 years old at the time of his death. The news of his passing shocked and saddened the NFL community.
Teammates like Russell Wilson, Geno Smith, and Robert Griffin III took to social media to mourn the loss of Collins and pay tribute to him.
