Gadot revealed in a video interview with GQ that this was the first time she had to audition for a project in a while. The producers wanted to ensure that she could sing since this is a musical. Thus, she spent a month working on the song before auditioning. The audition involved filming the song, and thankfully, she got the part. She described the experience as exciting and different from anything she had done before.
The actress expressed her enthusiasm for the role, stating that it was so much fun to shoot because it allowed her to do something completely different. She described the character as “delicious and delightful” and mentioned how she could go big and theatrical in her portrayal of the Evil Queen.
In an interview with People, Gadot shared an amusing anecdote about her daughter’s reaction to her playing the villain in Snow White. Initially, her daughter assumed that she would be playing the titular character. However, when she learned that Gadot would be the Evil Queen, she commented, “Oh, how appropriate.” It seems that her daughter had a perfect sense of humor about her mother’s role.
