The year 2023 has seen a wave of new products hit the market, with DJI’s Osmo Action 4 and GoPro’s Hero 12 representing the rugged action camera category. Now, it’s Insta360’s turn to unveil its new offering, the Ace Pro. The brand-new Insta360 Ace Pro action cam is not just any run-of-the-mill action cam. It is a powerhouse packed full of features and cutting-edge technology that set it apart from its competitors.
Insta360’s Ace Pro can be described as a GoPro on steroids, thanks to its numerous features and state-of-the-art technology. The Ace Pro boasts a handy 2.4-inch flip touchscreen, a 1/1.3-inch sensor, Leica tuning, and an impressive 5nm AI neural processor. It also comes equipped with the “FlowState Stabilization” feature, an IPX8 waterproof rating (down to 33ft or 10m), and a swappable battery that provides up to 100 minutes of continuous recording in 4K@30fps. Additionally, the Ace Pro offers fast charging, reaching up to 80 percent battery in just 22 minutes, or 100 percent in 46 minutes.
One of the standout features of the Ace Pro is its AI denoising capabilities, which, when combined with its new image sensor, produces clearer and more stable low-light results for both videos and stills. The camera is capable of capturing videos at up to 4K@60fps, 4K@120fps in slow motion, and even 8K@24fps. Furthermore, the Ace Pro is equipped with “Active HDR Video” mode, which automatically enhances color accuracy under specific lighting conditions.
In addition to its enhanced image quality, the Ace Pro also features a dedicated AI chip for auto-editing capabilities. The “AI Highlights Assistant” analyzes video content in real time to identify the best moments and produce an edited clip, which users can review on the camera before it is automatically synced to their mobile device through the Insta360 mobile app. Insta360 also introduced “AI Warp,” an innovative feature that allows users to transform their videos into various styles, such as cyberpunk, anime, space, and more, using generative AI.
The Insta360 Ace Pro is now available for order, with a standard bundle priced at $450, which includes a standard mount and a flexible adhesive mount. For those looking for a more affordable option, the Ace is available for $380 and includes similar accessories but with a smaller 1/2-inch sensor and a max video resolution of 6K@30fps. Optional accessories for both models include a dive case, a quick release mount, a multi mount, a GPS preview remote, a “Vertical-Horizontal Mount,” and a mic adapter plus cold shoe module.
The Ace Pro sets itself apart from other action cameras on the market with its advanced features, image quality, and innovative AI capabilities. Its state-of-the-art technology and impressive performance make it a compelling option for users looking for a high-quality action cam. As technology continues to advance, the Ace Pro represents the future of action cameras, setting a new standard for the industry.
