Jeremy Renner is celebrating 10 months of recovery following his New Year’s Day snowplow accident in January. The Hawkeye actor took to Instagram to share a video of him skipping and running up and down a driveway at an incline to mark this significant milestone. In the caption, he expressed his gratitude for the support he has received during his recovery journey, stating, “Today marks the day on 10 months of recovery…. First attempt at any of this activity (especially at steep grade) and was brought to tears of joy, hopefulness, and gratitude for all your support along with my family and friends…. I keep pushing for many reasons, but you are my fuel.”
This remarkable progress marks a major achievement for Renner, who has spent the year relearning how to walk after being run over by a 14,300-pound snowcat at his home in Reno, Nevada. The incident occurred as he attempted to prevent the machine from hitting his nephew, resulting in him being pulled underneath the PistenBully and sustaining 30 broken bones.
Following the accident, Renner was airlifted to a hospital where he underwent surgery for “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.” Despite the severity of his injuries, he remained positive and continued to share video updates on his road to recovery in the months that followed.
In an interview with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer in April, Renner revealed the extent of his injuries, including having his rib cage rebuilt with metal, metal plates in his face to support his eye socket, and titanium rods in one of his legs.
Renner has been diligently working on his recovery, exploring various types of therapy to aid in his healing process. However, he attributes his greatest therapy to his mindset and willpower, stating, “My greatest therapy has been my mind and the will to be here and push to recover and be better…. Be exceptional.” He views it as his duty to give back to his family, friends, and supporters who have empowered him to endure and recover, expressing his gratitude for their unwavering support.
The actor’s remarkable progress has been an inspiration to many, showcasing his resilience and determination in overcoming immense obstacles. His journey serves as a testament to the power of perseverance and the unwavering support of loved ones and fans alike. Renner’s positive outlook and unwavering determination to recover and thrive are a source of hope and inspiration for those facing their own challenges. As he celebrates 10 months of recovery, the milestones he has achieved stand as a testament to his strength and resilience in the face of adversity. He continues to push forward, fueled by the support of those around him, and his unwavering determination to not only recover but to thrive. As he looks to the future, Renner remains grateful for the gift of life and the opportunity to give back to those who have supported him throughout his journey.
