In an interview with W Magazine’s W TV Portfolio 2023, Washington revealed that she has spent her life trying not to be an actor. She admitted, “I am always quitting this business, and then right when I decide that I’m done is when something extraordinary comes across my desk.” She cited examples such as reading the scripts for Ray, The Last King of Scotland, and Scandal, all of which reignited her passion for the industry.

Macfadyen, best known for his role in Succession, shared his thoughts on the series. He mentioned that when he first heard his character’s name, Tom Wambsgans, he felt like it held the key to understanding the entire show. The unique name, combining “womb” and “glands,” reflected the character’s unconventional presence in the Roy family, whose name derives from the French word for “king.”
Macfadyen also revealed that his favorite Tom quote is “Buckle up, fucklehead,” and acknowledged that it’s strange when people recognize him on the streets because of his role. He humorously explained, “Sometimes they do a double take, and then look at me and start laughing at me because of Tom. It’s coming from a good place, but it is slightly bumpy sometimes.”
