Infiniti QX Monograph Concept Previews Exciting Redesign of QX80 SUV
Infiniti has given us a sneak peek into the future with the unveiling of the QX Monograph concept, a preview of the upcoming redesigned Infiniti QX80. This exciting new full-size SUV was revealed at The Lodge at Pebble Beach as part of the 2023 Monterey Car Week, and it not only showcases the QX80’s new design but also introduces the latest evolution of Infiniti’s design language.
The QX Monograph concept flaunts grand and graceful proportions, with a striking appearance that commands attention. The front of the vehicle features piano key-style lighting and a revised Infiniti logo with a captivating three-dimensional design. The wheels are designed to resemble wind turbines, giving the QX Monograph concept an aerodynamic and futuristic look.
One of the standout features of the QX Monograph concept is the rear of the vehicle. The taillights run the full width of the body, creating a bold and distinctive look. These taillights also have a smoked look for the surrounding enclosure, adding an element of intrigue. Both the taillights and the headlights are capable of displaying animated sequences, serving as welcome and farewell signs for the driver.
While the interior of the new QX80 hasn’t been revealed yet, it is expected to offer seating for seven or eight passengers, split over three rows. The dashboard is likely to incorporate digital screens for both the instrument cluster and infotainment hub, following the trend seen in the industry today.
Although not much information is available about the new QX80, it is believed that the launch will take place later this year or early next year. This launch will mark the beginning of a major makeover for Infiniti, with updates planned for the design of its dealerships as well as preparations for the introduction of electric vehicles.
Infiniti has ambitious plans for electric vehicles, with the first set to arrive around 2025. This electric vehicle will be manufactured at Nissan’s plant in Canton, Mississippi, and is expected to serve as a successor to both the Q50 and Q70 sedans. However, the next iteration of the QX80 will not be an electric vehicle just yet. Instead, it is likely to utilize an updated version of Nissan’s F-Alpha body-on-frame platform, which traces its roots back to the original Infiniti QX56 launched almost twenty years ago.
According to Automotive News, Infiniti aims to make the next QX80 more upscale than the current model to create further differentiation from its sibling models, the Nissan Armada and Patrol duo. This move is also intended to provide stronger competition against rivals such as the Cadillac Escalade and Lexus LX.
Rumors suggest that the QX80 redesign will coincide with the redesign of the Nissan Armada and Patrol, and there are speculations that the current 5.6-liter V8 engine in these models will be replaced with a twin-turbocharged V6. If this turns out to be true, the new QX80 is likely to benefit from the improved performance and efficiency of the V6 engine.
The upcoming redesign of the Infiniti QX80 promises to be an exciting development for fans of the luxurious SUV. With its bold design and enhanced features, the new QX80 aims to assert itself as a formidable contender in the competitive full-size SUV segment. As Infiniti prepares to embark on a new era of electric mobility, the redesigned QX80 will serve as a testament to the brand’s commitment to innovation and forward-thinking design.
