Lizzo’s legal battle with her former backup dancers has taken an unexpected turn as new evidence surfaces. The pop star’s attorney, Marty Singer, claims to have discovered photos that show the accusers enjoying themselves backstage at a topless cabaret show in Paris. This revelation comes just a month after the infamous banana incident that sparked the initial lawsuit.
In the lawsuit, Lizzo’s accusers, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, accused the singer of pressuring them to eat bananas from performers’ vaginas during a visit to the Bananenbar in Amsterdam. However, the recently unearthed photos seem to contradict this claim. Singer argues that the images portray the accusers “happily carousing” and “gleefully reveling” with the topless dancers from the Paris show, who are seen wearing colorful wigs.
Furthermore, Singer points out that the accusers willingly returned to work with Lizzo for the third leg of her tour, several weeks after the Paris show. This decision seems to contradict their assertion that they were coerced into attending the topless performance. The attorney emphasizes that one of the accusers, Arianna Davis, even expressed her admiration for Lizzo in an audition tape, stating that she looked up to the pop star and aspired to follow in her footsteps.
However, Neama Rahmani, the attorney representing the accusers, remains steadfast in their claims. Rahmani explains that while the dancers may have appeared happy in the photo, it was essential for them to maintain their jobs and livelihoods. Rahmani reiterates their commitment to the lawsuit and expresses excitement about going to trial. The attorney adds that they have received similar stories from other former employees, hinting at a pattern of mistreatment.
Rahmani references an article published by the Los Angeles Times, which discusses Lizzo’s alleged use of intimate footage of her dancers without their consent in the upcoming HBO Max documentary, ‘Love Lizzo.’ This incident further suggests a lack of regard for those who work for her, according to Rahmani.
Lizzo’s legal team is confident in their defense and plans to pursue legal action against the backup dancers for malicious prosecution once they win the current lawsuit. Singer claims to possess additional substantial evidence that reveals further contradictions in the plaintiffs’ claims.
The pop star herself made her first public appearance since the lawsuit, assuring fans that she was doing well and focusing on her music. While Lizzo’s attorney maintains that the lawsuit is a sham, it is evident that both sides remain firm in their positions. As the case unfolds, the public eagerly awaits the truth to emerge and justice to be served.
