The iconic fashion house Rabanne has teamed up with H&M to create a futuristic metallic-infused home collection, marking the most expansive offering of home decor ever from H&M’s designer collaborations. The collaboration, known as the Rabanne x H&M collection, includes womenswear, menswear, loungewear, footwear, bags, accessories, home furniture, textiles, and decor.
Founded by the late Spanish designer Paco Rabanne, the Paris-based fashion house is now led by creative director Julien Dossena. The collection draws inspiration from Rabanne’s space-age-meets-disco design codes and is described as being inspired by “the cool pull of the 1970s pool party, with shimmering disc-o-rama dresses, slinky ribbed knits, and luxe loungewear destined for cocktail hour.”
The Rabanne x H&M collection offers a wide range of products, including paillette party dresses and gowns in silver and gold, lamps and angular vases with a mirrorball-esque effect, floor-length chiffon gowns finished with crystals, jacquard floral maxi dresses, metallic suit sets, chainmail vests, metallic mesh bags, cutout gowns, and home textiles with geometric prints. The collection also includes ’70s-inspired side tables and trays made of stainless steel and recycled zinc, sequin-embellished tops and curtains, military-inspired jackets, faux fur coats, and more.
In addition to clothing and accessories, the home furnishings range includes metallic stools, candleholders, goblets, bottles, dice, playing cards, wool blankets, robes, monogrammed towels, cushions, and rugs. The collection offers a variety of price points, with tops and blouses ranging from $50 to $299, bottoms ranging from $99 to $299, skirts ranging from $99 to $399, and dresses ranging from $129 to $749. Loungewear pieces are priced between $40 and $100, while jewelry, bags, and accessories range from $70 to $349. Footwear options include sandals, heels, and boots priced from $129 to $390.
The collaboration between Rabanne and H&M extends beyond fashion and brings the iconic design house’s metallic aesthetic into the world of homeware and objects. Rabanne’s founder, Paco Rabanne, designed metallic furniture in the 1970s, making this home collection feel like an authentic extension of the brand. The collection aims to embellish the lifestyle element of the ready-to-wear collection by incorporating home decor items that complement the luxurious mood of enjoyment.
Eco-conscious design is also a focus of the Rabanne x H&M collection. Recycled materials such as metal, plastic sequins, and glass rhinestones are incorporated into the designs, adding a sustainable touch. To cater to those who prefer to borrow looks rather than buy, select H&M stores in Europe will offer a curated collection from the collaboration for rent.
The announcement of the Rabanne x H&M collaboration was celebrated with a star-studded soiree during Paris Fashion Week. Pop superstar Robyn and DJ and music producer Peggy Gou entertained the crowd at the cool club Silencio, with attendees including Cher, Jared Leto, Elle Fanning, Irina Shayk, and many others. All guests were decked out in pieces from the collection, showcasing its popularity and appeal to the fashion-forward crowd.
