TULSA, Okla. (Tulsa PD / News Release) – On July 13, 2023, around 11:30 a.m., an officer patrolling the Downtown area of Tulsa encountered an individual named Miguel Hernandez near the intersection of 8th and Denver. Initially, Hernandez provided a false name to the officer. However, as the officer questioned him, Hernandez suddenly fled on foot.
In a remarkable turn of events, a citizen driving southbound on Denver Ave. witnessed the pursuit and took immediate action. The individual parked his pickup truck, leaped out, and tackled Hernandez on the sidewalk. The officer was just a few steps behind and was able to quickly apprehend Hernandez thanks to the assistance of this brave citizen.
As a result of this incident, Miguel Hernandez was arrested and now faces multiple charges, including resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony warrants for burglary, conspiracy, larceny, and illegal firearm possession out of Rogers County.
