Netflix’s adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic short story, “The Fall of the House of Usher,” is set to be released on October 12th. The supernatural limited series, helmed by Mike Flanagan, explores the story of ruthless siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher, who build Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into a powerful empire. However, their past secrets come back to haunt them when the heirs of the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth.
The first images released by Netflix show the Usher family gathered around a dinner table. Sauriyan Sapkota plays Prospero Usher, Rahul Kohli is Napoleon Usher, and Samantha Sloyan portrays Tamerlane Usher. Mark Hamill also makes an appearance as Arthur Pym, lurking mysteriously in the background.
Bruce Greenwood takes on the role of Roderick Usher, the patriarch of the Usher dynasty. He is joined by Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, and Carl Lumbly in this star-studded miniseries. Flanagan, known for his previous works such as “The Haunting of Hill House,” “The Haunting of Bly Manor,” and “Midnight Mass,” serves as the writer and director of “Fall of the House of Usher.”
In addition to this series, Flanagan is also working on “Midnight Club,” adapted from the young adult book by Christopher Pike. The story follows a group of terminally ill teenagers who make a secret pact.
