Nicole Kidman, Antonio Banderas, and Harris Dickinson have been confirmed to star in the upcoming erotic thriller, “Babygirl,” which will be directed by Halina Reijn, known for her work on “Bodies Bodies Bodies.” Joining the ensemble cast are Sophie Wilde, known for her role in the horror movie “Talk to Me,” and veteran actor Jean Reno. The film is set to be shot in New York in December.
The plot of “Babygirl” explores power dynamics and sexuality, telling the story of a powerful and in-control CEO, portrayed by Kidman, who begins an affair with a charismatic intern, played by Dickinson. Banderas will play the role of the CEO’s husband, with Wilde starring as the CEO’s assistant who watches the affair unfold. Reno’s character is a rival business executive.
The film will be produced by David Hinojosa of 2AM, along with Reijn, who is producing through her company, Man Up Film, and A24, which is financing the project. Julia Oh, Zach Nutman, and Christine D’Souza Gelb of 2AM will serve as executive producers.
A24, the studio behind Reijn’s previous film, “Bodies Bodies Bodies,” is known for its innovative and thought-provoking content. The studio has previously acquired the rights to Reijn’s directorial debut film, “Instinct.”
