Ryan’s World, a popular YouTube channel featuring influencer Ryan Kaji, is expanding its content and consumer product offerings with the launch of Ryan’s World Ninja Adventures. This expansion is a collaboration between pocket.watch, a digital media company focused on kids and family content, and Sunlight Entertainment, the production studio owned by Ryan’s family. The new content includes toys, episodes, specials, and an AI-driven collaboration with Cameo. This expansion will be available on the Ryan’s World YouTube Channel, The Roku Channel, and the independent kids and family SVOD service Ryan and Friends Plus.
The inspiration for Ryan’s World Ninja Adventures comes from the Japanese heritage of Ryan’s father, Shion, and their family trips to Japan. The goal is to immerse the audience in a world of ninja-inspired fun and adventure. Amanda Klecker, the SVP of Marketing & Franchise at pocket.watch, expresses excitement about extending the Ryan’s World franchise and creating an epic brand experience for the whole family.
The launch of Ryan’s World Ninja Adventures begins with a special that debuts on The Roku Channel and Ryan and Friends Plus. This special follows 11-year-old Ryan as he embarks on a journey to become a “Ninja Master” and features epic battles and singalongs. Later in August, the Ryan’s World YouTube Channel will premiere a new live-action special filmed in Japan, allowing fans to watch the Kaji family’s real-time reactions as the content is streamed.
Alongside the special’s release, Walmart is launching an exclusive line of Ryan’s World Ninja Adventures toys. These toys include the Ninja Adventures Mini Mystery Egg, which features one mystery figure, a micro figure, mystery sand, and stickers. There’s also the Ninja Adventures Giant Mystery Egg, which includes figures, a vehicle, putty, a Ninja Star spinner, and stickers.
One of the exciting features of the Giant Mystery Egg is that it will provide kids with a code for personalized animated Cameo messages from “Ninja Ryan.” This collaboration with Cameo allows fans to receive customized animated video messages from their favorite YouTube star. The Ninja Ryan character utilizes Cameo’s AI voice and animation technology, joining other pocket.watch characters on Cameo Kids.
Ryan’s father Shion, who is the CEO of Sunlight Entertainment, shares his enthusiasm for the content creation process behind Ryan’s World Ninja Adventures. He mentions that creating this content has been a fun way for his kids to connect with his own childhood in Japan. With the launch of Ninja Ryan on Cameo Kids, fans now have the opportunity to have personal connections through customized animated video messages.
Ryan’s World, previously known as Ryan ToysReview, is a successful brand that produces digital and broadcast entertainment as well as toys and other consumer products. The brand was launched in 2015 when Ryan was just 3 years old, and it has since gained over 56 million subscribers and more than 76 billion lifetime views across channels and platforms. The Kaji family founded Sunlight Entertainment in 2017 to manage their YouTube channels efficiently. Ryan’s World releases around 25 videos featuring live-action and animated content every week.
Sunlight Entertainment is responsible for managing several channels and shows, including Ryan’s World, Ryan’s World Español, Ryan’s World in Japanese, EK Doodles, Ryan’s Family Review, Vtubers, Combo Panda, Gus the Gummy Gator, The Studio Space, and the Stick with Kaji podcast. They have a 30-person team of videographers, editors, animators, writers, and voice actors.
In 2017, the Kaji family signed a deal with pocket.watch, a company and studio behind other successful kids’ content franchises like Love, Diana, Onyx Monster Mysteries, and Toys and Colors: Kaleidoscope City. This partnership led to the creation of Ryan’s Mystery Playdate, which aired on Nickelodeon, and the live-action and animation hybrid mini-movie Super Spy Ryan, available on Amazon Kids+ and PBS Kids.
Ryan’s World has also ventured into the video game space. They released the mobile game app Tag with Ryan in partnership with pocket.watch and WildWorks. They also collaborated with Outright Games to release console games Race With Ryan and Ryan’s Rescue Squad, available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
The expansion of Ryan’s World with Ryan’s World Ninja Adventures demonstrates the brand’s continuous growth and commitment to providing engaging content and innovative products for its young audience. With the new toys, episodes, specials, and interactive features like personalized animated Cameo messages, Ryan’s World continues to captivate kids and families around the world.
