Demi Lovato recently made headlines as she decided to part ways with talent manager Scooter Braun, whom she had signed within 2019. According to Billboard, Lovato is currently in search of new management after her split with Braun last month. However, representatives for the singer and Braun have not yet responded to requests for comment from The Hollywood Reporter.
Braun’s SB Projects had been managing several high-profile artists including Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Ozuna, Dan + Shay, David Guetta, Black Eyed Peas, Ava Max, and Carly Rae Jepsen. This news comes shortly after Puck News reported that Bieber had also left Braun, although Braun’s team denied the report.
Prior to Lovato’s departure, J Balvin had also parted ways with Braun in May, despite signing with him in 2019. Under Braun’s guidance, Lovato released two albums, “Dancing With the Devil … the Art of Starting Over” in 2021 and “Holy Fvck” in 2022. However, both albums struggled to produce hit songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Prior to working with Braun, Lovato was managed by Phil McIntyre of PhilyMack.
On September 15th, Lovato is set to release “Revamped,” an album that features rock versions of ten of her songs. Some of Lovato’s well-known hits include “Sorry Not Sorry,” “Give Your Heart a Break,” “Heart Attack,” and “Cool for the Summer.” Her 2015 album, “Confident,” earned her the first-ever Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album. In 2019, she also competed for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her guest appearance on Christina Aguilera’s “Fall in Line.”
Lovato initially gained fame as a child actress on the TV series “Barney & Friends” before becoming a teen star on the Disney Channel film “Camp Rock” and the series “Sonny With a Chance.” She later served as a judge on “The X Factor.” Throughout her career, Lovato has been open about her struggles with various personal issues. She entered rehab in 2010 due to an eating disorder, self-mutilation, and other challenges, and she has since spoken candidly about her battles with drugs and alcohol.
With this recent change in management, Lovato’s fans are eager to see how it will impact her future projects and career trajectory. Many are hopeful that fresh management will lead to a new wave of success and creative exploration for the talented artist. In the meantime, the anticipation for her upcoming album “Revamped” continues to grow, as fans are excited to hear her rock interpretations of her popular songs.
While Lovato’s decision to leave Scooter Braun may have initially surprised some, it is not uncommon for artists and managers to part ways as their career paths evolve. Sometimes, artists seek out new management to ensure their artistic vision aligns with their professional goals. As Lovato embarks on this new chapter in her career, fans are eager to witness her growth and authenticity as an artist, both musically and personally.
