Apple Arcade subscribers have a lot to look forward to in July, as Apple has unveiled its lineup of games for the month. Among the highly anticipated titles are three classic indie games: Stardew Valley, Slay The Spire, and Ridiculous Fishing EX.
Ridiculous Fishing EX is particularly exciting, as Apple has described it as a “full and expanded remaster” of the original game. The game, which was an Apple Design Award winner, now features 3D graphics. Players will use unconventional fishing gear like chainsaws and toasters in an open sea to catch fish. The remastered version also introduces a competitive mode with updated challenges and leaderboards, as well as a new game plus mode. It’s worth mentioning that the original Ridiculous Fishing team built this version from the ground up. This comes as a surprise since the original studio behind the game, Vlambeer, had disbanded. However, with the help of co-developer KO_OP, the team managed to revive the game. Studio co-founder Rami Ismail expressed his joy in getting a new chance to work on the game that launched his career. Ridiculous Fishing EX will be available on Apple Arcade starting July 14th.
Another highly anticipated game coming to Apple Arcade in July is Slay The Spire. This deck-building game utilizes collectible cards to defeat enemies and bosses in turn-based combat as players ascend a spire. Slay The Spire has received rave reviews, and it will be available on Apple Arcade on July 7th. On the same day, the family-friendly game Lego Duplo World+ will also join the service.
On July 21st, one of the most beloved games of the last decade, Stardew Valley, will be available to Apple Arcade subscribers at no extra cost. This version of the popular farming and life simulation game includes all the recent updates, such as town upgrades, dating events, fishing ponds, and pets. Additionally, one week later, subscribers will be able to dive into Hello Kitty Island Adventure, a social simulation game that offers co-op multiplayer modes.
In addition to the new releases, Apple has also announced several updates to existing games on Apple Arcade in July. Among these updates are Mini Motorways, Mini Metro+, Proxi, Butter Royale, and Jetpack Joyride 2.
Apple Arcade continues to provide subscribers with a diverse and exciting collection of games.
