Arnold Schwarzenegger’s first TV series, “FUBAR,” made a strong debut in the United States, leading Nielsen’s streaming charts for its premiere week of May 22-28. The action comedy show, featuring the famous “Terminator” star, amassed 1.53 billion minutes of viewing, which is approximately 25.57 million hours. This accounted for about 29 percent of the worldwide total reported by Netflix for the show during that week.
Netflix has already renewed “FUBAR” for a second season, showing their confidence in the success of the series. Another notable entry in the rankings was “SWAT,” which more than doubled its viewing time to 1.35 billion minutes across Netflix, Hulu, and Paramount+. It was the only other title to crack a billion minutes of viewing.
HBO’s critically acclaimed series “Succession” remained steady in the week leading up to its series finale. It gathered 541 million minutes of viewing on HBO Max, excluding linear viewing on HBO’s cable channels. Despite the slight dip from the previous week’s numbers, the series finale drew record first-night viewership on HBO Max.
In addition to “FUBAR,” another series that made its way into the top 10 original series was “Citadel” on Prime Video. It accumulated 273 million minutes of viewing, which marks its debut in the top 10 rankings. “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” also performed well, with 483 million minutes viewed, up from 443 million. Its series finale premiered on May 26.
It’s important to note that Nielsen’s streaming ratings only cover viewing on TV sets and do not include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. Furthermore, the ratings only measure U.S. audiences and do not account for viewership in other countries.
