Tesla has recently revealed an upgraded and redesigned Model 3 for the European market, previously known as the Highland. This new version of the Model 3 features several changes and improvements, including updates to the front and rear design, a new screen for rear passengers, a redesigned interior, and enhancements to aerodynamics and range.
One of the most noticeable changes is the redesign of the front of the Model 3. Tesla has removed the front bump in favor of a sleeker design, featuring a single central vent. The headlights have also been redesigned with slimmer proportions and Audi-like LED daytime running lights, adding a touch of elegance to the car’s appearance.
While the sides of the car remain relatively unchanged, Tesla has introduced new alloy wheel designs, offering 18- and 19-inch options for customers to choose from. Moving to the rear of the car, Tesla has replaced the split taillights found on the previous model with a new design. The bumper has also been redesigned, integrating the fog lights seamlessly. In addition, Tesla has introduced two new paint schemes: a red color similar to the Model S and a “stealth grey” option.
These exterior changes not only enhance the aesthetics but also improve the aerodynamics of the Model 3, resulting in a reported range improvement of over 10 percent. The rear-wheel drive version now offers an impressive range of 344 miles WLTP, while the long-range model achieves an even greater range of 421 miles WLTP.
Tesla has also focused on improving the ride quality of the Model 3. The company has implemented updated suspension tuning and a stiffer body to enhance the overall driving experience. Furthermore, Tesla aims to reduce the amount of noise inside the cabin by extending the acoustic glass to the rear windows and back window.
Moving to the interior, the Model 3 receives significant changes as well. The dash design now features LED lighting, creating a more modern and visually appealing atmosphere. The panel on the dash is customizable, allowing drivers to personalize their driving experience. Tesla has also made changes to the steering wheel, replacing the traditional stalk indicators with a button for a sleeker and more intuitive control layout.
The infotainment system has been upgraded with a brighter and more responsive screen. Users can now toggle the passenger air system, and improvements have been made to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. To further enhance the audio experience, Tesla has upgraded the stereo system to 17 speakers, surpassing the 14 speakers found in the previous model.
Rear passengers now have their own screen mounted on the back of the center console. This 8-inch screen offers access to adjustable climate controls, music, and entertainment apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Disney Plus. This feature will undoubtedly provide a more enjoyable and entertaining experience for passengers, particularly for families with children.
Tesla plans to begin deliveries of the upgraded Model 3 in October in select European countries and the Middle East. However, it has not yet announced availability in North America or the UK. The starting price for the rear-wheel drive model is set at €42,990, while the long-range version will start at €50,990.
