In addition to these premieres, the Spotlight section will also showcase other noteworthy films. One of these is Hayao Miyazaki’s first film in a decade, “The Boy and the Heron,” making its U.S. premiere. Another is Richard Linklater’s “Hit Man,” co-written by and starring Glen Powell as a philosophy professor who leads a double life as an undercover hitman for the New Orleans Police Department.

Furthermore, the Spotlight section will include several documentaries, such as Steve McQueen’s “Occupied City,” Joe Brewster and Michèle Stephenson’s “Going to Mars,” and Errol Morris’ exploration of John le Carré in “The Pigeon Tunnel.”
One of the recent additions to the lineup is Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro,” which has been announced as a spotlight gala screening on October 2nd. For more information on the New York Film Festival’s Spotlight selections, interested individuals can visit their official website.
