Venom, a Layer-1 blockchain based in the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), has recently announced the launch of its public testnet. This milestone marks a significant achievement in Venom’s roadmap as it prepares to launch on its mainnet. Along with the testnet launch, Venom has revealed a host of in-house developed decentralized applications (dApps) as part of its growing ecosystem.
The design of the testnet is aimed at both the ecosystem users and developers. It allows developers to test and debug dApps and blockchain protocols while allowing users to experience them firsthand. The goal of the program is to encourage innovation and community building within the ecosystem.
To try out the testnet in two simple steps, developers and users must first download the Venom Wallet on mobile via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or on the desktop as a Google Chrome Extension. Secondly, they must claim a free testnet allocation to start testing the Venom ecosystem.
Chair of the Venom Foundation Council, Peter Knez, says, “We’re excited to announce the launch of Venom’s public testnet, a crucial step towards our upcoming mainnet launch”. Knez is confident that with Venom’s highly scalable and reliable asynchronous blockchain, developers will be able to build innovative dApps while users get to experience them firsthand.
Developers will be able to build on the asynchronous Venom blockchain which boasts ultra-fast speed at 100k TPS, and a dynamic sharding feature that enhances scalability and network reliability. To help developers get started, Venom has curated a repository of developer documentation that equips them with the necessary tools and knowledge to start building.
Meanwhile, Venom’s low transaction fees make it user-friendly for global adoption, and its network boosts interoperability, making it a viable tool for developers.
Several dApps are set to make their debut on Venom testnet. Users can test these by performing transactions, testing the native Venom wallet, and much more. The following are nine dApps that are set to launch:
1. Venom Wallet
2. Venom Scan
4. Venom Bridge
5. Venom Stake
8. NFT Mint
Based on the ADGM jurisdiction, Venom Foundation, which is licensed by the ADGM, enables the acceleration of global Web3 projects. Its decentralized network operates under the purview of the ADGM. The financial services firm is known as an oasis for investors, positioning Venom as the world’s first compliant blockchain, enabling authorities and enterprises the freedom to build, innovate, and scale.
With capabilities of dynamic sharding, low fees, ultra-fast speed, and scalability, Venom harbors the potential to become the main infrastructure for a global ecosystem of Web3 applications, possessing ultra-fast transaction speeds and infinite scalability to meet the demands of an ever-expanding user base.
