She has also worked with luxury hospitality brands such as The Peninsula, One&Only, Four Seasons, and GHM, designing, developing, and managing spa and wellness facilities and programs.
In collaboration with Auberge Resorts Collection, Garcia-Tunon has been instrumental in conceptualizing many of the brand’s new spas and wellness offerings. These include Hacienda AltaGracia in Costa Rica, Mayflower Inn & Spa in Connecticut, Chileno Bay Resort & Residences in Los Cabos, Etéreo in Riviera Maya, Stanly Ranch in Napa, Wildflower Farms in Hudson Valley, and Susurros del Corazón in Punta de Mita, set to open in November.
Garcia-Tunon’s journey in the industry began with the opening of The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Miami. During her five-year tenure with Mandarin Oriental, she served as the spa director, overseeing the opening of several luxury spas worldwide. She later joined ESPA International as senior vice president, further expanding her influence in the wellness sector.
As global vice president of wellbeing, Garcia-Tunon aims to redefine guests’ perception of wellbeing, as she believes it is an integral part of the travel experience. She is a guest professor for the University of Miami’s School of Architecture for Wellness Design in Hospitality, as well as a guest lecturer for Florida International University School of Medicine for Nutrition and Holistic Therapies. Additionally, she serves on the board of Directors for Miami-Dade’s Hospitality Sustainability Council, emphasizing her commitment to sustainable practices in the industry.
