Zepeto, South Korea’s leading metaverse platform, has joined forces with Jump Crypto to launch their joint venture, ZTX. The partnership has secured a seed investment of $13 million, with influential investors such as Collab+Currency, Parataxis, MZ Web3 Fund, and Everest Ventures Group spearheaded by Jump Crypto.
Zepeto, valued at over $1 billion, is a prominent player in Asia’s “Web2” metaverse scene and ranks fourth globally, behind giants like Roblox, Fortnite, and Minecraft. Since its establishment in 2018, Zepeto has experienced rapid growth, attracting 400 million users. Now, with their sights set on exploring the potential of blockchain technology, they aim to harness the power of Web3.
ZTX is building a vast 3D virtual world where users can engage, exchange digital items, and immerse themselves in social experiences. The platform prioritizes individuality, allowing users to personalize avatars, landscapes, and residences using digital creations from various artists and communities.
The vision behind ZTX is to create a Web3 universe that celebrates creators and their communities. This digital domain is open to all, offering endless plots of land free of cost. Visitors can claim their space and fully engage in the core gameplay. Users can set up structures on their plots, augmenting their space with unique assets, including the notable District Homes.
Through ZTX, Zepeto aims to bring more people into the Web3 world by giving users a stake in its 3D worlds. One of their key initiatives is the upcoming launch of the Genesis Home Mint.
The Genesis Home Mint, slated for debut this month, will feature a collection of 4,000 distinct 3D houses available for purchase as NFTs on the Arbitrum scaling network of Ethereum. Owning these NFTs grants benefits such as membership in one of ZTX’s four designated districts. Additionally, NFT owners can expect exclusive access to upcoming content drops, events, and gameplay enhancements within the platform.
To refine and perfect their platform, ZTX recently conducted a private beta test.
