Aqara, a leading smart home brand, has unveiled several new products that expand its smart home lineup. One of the standout releases is the Aqara Ceiling Light T1M, a Matter-enabled smart ceiling light with a unique feature. With a diameter of 50cm (~19.7 inches), the Ceiling Light T1M offers an impressive range of 16 million different colors. What sets it apart is the independently addressable RGB ring on the outside, which can be used to create gradient lighting effects and also serve as a status indicator when linked to other smart home products. This means that the outer light can be programmed to illuminate a specific color when an issue is detected by other smart devices, such as a leak or an open door.
The Aqara Ceiling Light T1M also boasts low power consumption when idle and is compatible with Matter-over-bridge, ensuring seamless integration with other smart home devices. While pricing and availability details have not yet been announced, the independently addressable ring sets it apart from other smart ceiling lights on the market, such as those offered in the Hue lineup.
In addition to the Ceiling Light T1M, Aqara has also introduced the Camera E1, a 2K indoor security camera with support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. Although not Matter-enabled, the Camera E1 is compatible with various smart home platforms including Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home. It offers AI-powered person detection and tracking, as well as the ability to store footage on a microSD card, in the cloud, or through network-attached storage (NAS). The Camera E1 will be available globally later this year.
Another new addition to Aqara’s smart home lineup is the European-style wall socket, which can be hardwired to the home. Similar to Aqara’s US-style smart plug, the European wall socket can be controlled using the Aqara app and integrated with other smart home platforms like Apple HomeKit. It also supports Matter if used with one of Aqara’s Matter-enabled Zigbee 3.0 hubs. The wall socket offers power consumption tracking and can be incorporated into routines, allowing it to trigger other smart devices based on certain conditions.
Aqara has also unveiled the Smart Lock U200, a Matter-over-Thread smart lock that doesn’t require the replacement of existing locks. The Smart Lock U200 is designed to work with existing cylinders and doesn’t require drilling or modifications to the door. It offers various unlocking methods including Aqara’s NFC card, fingerprint verification, and PIN codes. Although the release date has not been specified, Aqara plans to launch the Smart Lock U200 on Kickstarter later this year.
Finally, Aqara has announced the Dual Relay Module T2, a Zigbee 3.0 dual-relay module that allows users to control lights, motorized window coverings, garage doors, boilers, and more. This module features Matter-over-bridge support and includes safety features such as overheat protection, overload protection, and configurable power limits. The Dual Relay Module T2 will be available globally later this year.
With these new products, Aqara continues to expand its smart home product lineup, offering innovative solutions for lighting, security, power control, and access control. The introduction of Matter compatibility further enhances the interoperability and ease of use of Aqara’s devices, ensuring seamless integration with other smart home platforms and devices. As Aqara unveils these new products, consumers can look forward to creating a more connected and intelligent home environment.
