The London Film Festival has announced its complete lineup, revealing the headline galas and special presentations that will be featured. This comes after the competition program was previously revealed. Among the new headline galas are the world premiere of Jeymes Samuel’s film “The Book of Clarence” and Bradley Cooper’s film “Maestro”. The special presentations include works from renowned filmmakers such as Hayao Miyazaki, Richard Linklater, and Sofia Coppola.
Some of the big names returning to the London Film Festival include Martin Scorsese, Yorgos Lanthimos, Jonathan Glazer, Steve McQueen, and Sofia Coppola. The festival, which will run from October 4th to 15th, promises to present a “compelling and diverse” program of films, shorts, series, and immersive works from 92 countries. The lineup features works in 79 different languages, including 99 works made by female and non-binary filmmakers, making up 39 percent of the program.
The festival will showcase a total of 29 world premieres, including 14 feature films, two series, and 13 short films. The Series Special Presentation is “Grime Kids” directed by Abdou Cisse. The BFI Flare Special Presentation is “Housekeeping for Beginners” directed and written by Goran Stolevski. Other special presentations include films from Hayao Miyazaki, Kim Jee-Woon, Aki Kaurismäki, Garth Davis, Richard Linklater, and Sofia Coppola.
