Ringbrothers, a renowned automotive restomod company based in Wisconsin, has recently introduced their latest creation – a stunning 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer named “Raskal.” This project required an impressive 2,800 hours of meticulous work from the skilled team at Ringbrothers, who left no stone unturned in their pursuit of perfection.
One of the standout features of Raskal is its redesigned exterior. Ringbrothers made significant changes to every exterior panel of the vehicle. They replaced the factory hardtop and side and rear glass with a sleek two-piece removable canopy made from carbon fiber. To further enhance the look, they substituted the original hood with a carbon-fiber piece. The team also raised the quarter panels and tailgate to match the height of the doors. In a move that adds to the overall aesthetic appeal, the door handles were moved to the tops of the doors, giving the Blazer a cleaner and more streamlined look. Despite these modifications, Raskal retains its original identity as a K5 Blazer.
Under the hood, Ringbrothers swapped out the stock engine for a powerful General Motors LS3 6.2-liter V-8. This exceptional engine churns out a formidable 430 horsepower and an impressive 425 lb-ft of torque. Adding to the Blazer’s performance capabilities is a GM 4L80E 4-speed automatic transmission and a responsive four-wheel-drive system featuring Dana 44 front and Dana 60 rear axles.
To ensure Raskal handles as well as it looks, Ringbrothers collaborated with the Roadster Shop to develop a custom RS4 chassis. The chassis incorporates a triangulated four-link suspension paired with Fox Racing coilovers, delivering exceptional stability and control. Braking performance is also enhanced thanks to Baer 6-piston calipers and 13.0-inch rotors fitted both at the front and rear. The 18-inch wheels on Raskal are a unique and exclusive design inspired by the factory model but customized for this specific build. These wheels are wrapped in 35-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires, providing a perfect balance between style and functionality.
Moving to the interior, Ringbrothers didn’t disappoint. They lowered the floor to create more space and accommodation for the new set of seats, which they meticulously crafted in-house to ensure maximum comfort and style. The dashboard of Raskal seamlessly integrates Dakota Digital gauges encircled by Ringbrothers bezels. Upgraded climate control and audio systems elevate the driving experience, and a custom steering wheel completes the bespoke interior design.
Interestingly, Raskal is not the first K5 Blazer project from Ringbrothers. They recently unveiled another 1972 Blazer called “Bully” at the 2022 SEMA show. Bully is equipped with a monstrous 1,200-horsepower supercharged 6.8-liter LS3 V-8 engine. While Bully may offer unmatched power and performance, Raskal is better suited for everyday use, providing a combination of style, comfort, and reliability.
In conclusion, Ringbrothers has once again demonstrated their expertise in automotive restomod with the introduction of Raskal – a meticulously crafted 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer. This build showcases the dedication and passion of the team, evident in every detail. Raskal’s stunning exterior modifications, powerful LS3 V-8 engine, custom RS4 chassis, and meticulously designed interior all contribute to making it a truly unique and exceptional vehicle that stands out in the automotive world.
